Preparing your device for resale

iPhone: Follow the steps to ensure your phone is ready to be traded in / sold.

Step 1: Charge your iPhone to 100%

Step 2: Sign out of your Apple ID (iCloud Account)
 
1. Make sure device is connected to either Wifi or Cellular Service.

​2. Select Settings. Click your Apple ID at
the very top, then scroll down to the bottom and select "Sign Out". 

3. You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID Passcode, enter it now. This will take a brief moment, then at the top right select "turn off". You have now successfully removed your Apple ID from your iPhone.

Step 3: Remove any Pin Code Locks

1. Select Settings > Face ID and Passcode. Enter your pin code if prompted.

2. Select "Turn Passcode Off". Enter pin code once again. You have now successfully removed your pin code from your iPhone.


Step 4: Reset iPhone back to Factory Settings

1. Select Settings > General 

2. Scroll to the bottom and select "Transfer or Reset iPhone"

3. Select "Erase All Content and Settings"

4. Select "Cont
inue"

5. Tap "Erase iPhone" - Your iPhone will now erase over the next few minutes. 

Step 5: Congratulations! Your iPhone is now ready for resale. Click here to get started.

RESET DIFFERENT DEVICE

iPad: Follow the steps to ensure your iPad is ready to be traded in / sold.

Step 1: Charge your iPad to 100%

Step 2: Sign out of your Apple ID (iCloud Account)
 
1. Make sure device is connected to either Wifi or Cellular Service.

​2. Select Settings. Click your Apple ID at
the very top, then scroll down to the bottom and select "Sign Out".

RESET DIFFERENT DEVICE

MacBook: Follow the steps to ensure your MacBook is ready to be traded in / sold.

Step 1: Charge your MacBook to 100%

Step 2: Sign out of your Apple ID (iCloud Account)
 
1. Make sure device is connected to Wifi.

​2. Select System Preferences. Click "Apple ID" at
the top right, then select "Overview". 

3. Select "Sign Out".

4. Unselect all the c
heckmark boxes and hit "Continue"

5. Enter your Apple Passcode, wait briefly. You have now successfully removed your Apple ID from your MacBook
.

Step 3: Change Log In Code

1. Select System Preferences.

2. Select "Security & Privacy". Then select "Change Password"

3. Enter your old passcode, then enter a new code of 1234. Renter this code in the verify section one box below.


Step 4: Reset Macbook to Factory Settings

1. This next step is slightly more complicated, for that reason your Phone Runners tech will handle this step for you in person during the sale of your computer.

Step 5: Gather your Charger

1. Gather your Apple Charging Block and Cord to bring along for the sale.

Step 6: Congratulations! Your MacBook is now ready for resale. Click here to get started.

iMac: Follow the steps to ensure your iMac is ready to be traded in / sold.

Step 1: Sign out of your Apple ID (iCloud Account)
